Organizations Working to Stop the Clock Change

The push to end the biannual clock change isn't unique to Washington. These organizations share a common interest: stopping the twice-a-year clock change, in other states and nationally.

Save Standard Time

A 501(c)(4) nonprofit founded by Jay Pea that has supported and testified in favor of permanent-standard-time bills in Washington and other states, including WA SB 5511 (2022), SB 5795 (2024), SB 5001 (2025), and HB 2119 (2026) — none of which have yet received a floor vote.

Coalition for Permanent Standard Time

A coalition of medical and scientific organizations — including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, National Sleep Foundation, Sleep Research Society, and Society for Research on Biological Rhythms — pushing for permanent standard time nationally on health grounds. Co-chaired by a sleep-medicine physician and by Jay Pea of Save Standard Time.

The leading professional society for sleep medicine physicians, and a founding member of the Coalition for Permanent Standard Time. Its published position — permanent standard time aligns best with human circadian biology — underpins the health case for this initiative (see Sources).
